Dave Hooper

Executive Consultant

David Hooper

My role at Waterstons is...

Working with customers as part of the business consulting team to understand their needs and help them to make the most of their opportunities, maximise efficiency and reduce risk. I largely work in designing IT strategies to ensure a close alignment across a business, as well as working on mergers and acquisitions where I cover IT due diligence, transition planning and post-deal strategy. I also run enterprise architecture projects that lead to designing an organisation’s future IT state, working to embed the necessary governance to sustain the journey towards it.

My proudest Waterstons moment is...

Seeing the graduates I used to line manage being promoted to Senior and then Executive Consultants is really, really great. Some of those graduates are now running departments and it’s always a joy to work with them and share in their success.

My life away from work is...

I can’t escape my physics degree and I love understanding how things work. This ranges from maintaining classic cars, keeping up to date with scientific discoveries, DIY, learning about number theory or understanding microprocessor design. I also like board games, running, books, film and science fiction. Best of all is when I can combine several of these at once, like running while listening to a podcast about scientific films!

I’ll be with you when...

You've got a problem or opportunity and you don't know how to go make the most of it. In 15 years at Waterstons I've worked across many business sectors and with all our departments; I have written bespoke software, built data warehouses, integrated systems, designed solutions, reviewed businesses and produced IT strategies or created enterprise architectures.

I'll listen to your concerns, speak your language, understand what you need, and we'll work out how to make the most of your opportunity. I aim to see to the heart of the issue and unlock the benefits for you.
