My role at Waterstons is...

Helping new and existing clients with cyber resilience challenges, enterprise risk management and IS\IT governance. It's a really interesting role in an area of significant change in terms of tooling, people and processes. The cyber security risk is now prominent (and rising) across all industry sectors, so helping clients adapt and implement an effective Security Operating Model and standards by building a risk-managed approach to Information Security is very rewarding. Waterstons ethos is about doing the right thing and building long-term client partnerships; that's a great way to do business and very fulfilling with some great relationships built up with the people I work with and support.

My proudest Waterstons moment is...

A difficult one to choose, as finding solutions for clients is very rewarding generally. But I'd probably draw out a security program of works I delivered for an international organisation that had grown quickly with significant regulatory control requirements and were finding the cost of maintaining compliance very expensive. Being able to work with the senior team and design a new approach to their governance and control framework, selling that approach and then delivering it, saving significant cost and getting better value and control for the client was hugely satisfying.

My life away from work is...

Spending time with family and friends. We have a cockapoo called Monty, so we're often out walking him in parks or the beach as the favourite spots. I love my golf and get at least a weekend game in at my local club and get out regularly cycling and running to keep the fitness up. It's not all fitness though; I'm partial to a real ale or two and like to sample the local micro-brewery offerings.

I’ll be with you when...

You are under pressure and need guidance and support to solve current challenges. Working regularly across multiple sectors and organisation sizes, I have a wealth of knowledge to enable us to build a solution that works for your organisation, culture and ways of working. Many clients start with an initial 'problem', but the relationship becomes an ongoing one where I can assist in bringing the latest knowledge and skills, supporting the IT senior management and wider team keep pace with the rapid pace of change in the cyber, risk and governance arena.

My sector strengths are...

  • Financial Services
  • Architecture, Engineering & Construction
  • Local Government
